The Virtual Facilitation Essentials is a foundational course packed with practical, actionable tips on creating and delivering more effective virtual facilitation. Led by Effective Group Coaching author, Jennifer Britton, Jenn has led tens of thousands of hours of virtual conversations, and trainings in the last two decades. From phone, to zoom to skype, Jenn has worked with team members and learners in more than 50 countries around the world. As a coach and educator her focus is on helping others become more effective in their delivery methods. She ‘s been involved in designing and delivering train-the-trainer programming for more than 15 years, and virtual train the training since 2006.The program is now approved by the International Coach Federation for 8.5 hours of CCEs (including 5.5 hours of core competencies!).

The Virtual Facilitation Essentials program has evolved out of her virtual train the trainer work with organizations and the Virtual Facilitation Skills Intensive program, which she has delivered since 2013.

In the Virtual Facilitation Essentials program we explore the following topics:

Week 1 – Virtual Facilitation Foundations

  • Four Essential ingredients for virtual facilitation
  • The range of virtual facilitation options
  • Core Skills for Virtual Facilitation -and how yours stack up


Week 2 – Approaches and Engagement strategies for Effective Virtual Learning

This week we explore:

  • Different virtual design options
  • Foundations of engagement – practical approaches for engagement
  • Core elements for Effective, and Engaging, Virtual Events

Week 3 – Building your Facilitation Toolkit

Whether you are leading meetings, webinars or other virtual events, having a arobut toolkit to draw up upon is key. This session introduces you to more than 12 virtual facilitation approaches – from openers, to closers to goal setting and accountability in the virtual space.

Week 4 – Exploring the Technologies

Exploring breakouts and technology issues

Core logistical issues to consider

Different roles in a virtual event

Evaluating virtual events


Week 5 - Tricky Issues and open space for additional topics

In week five we explore common tricky issues around technology, design and participant issues, along with how to mitigate against them.

The Virtual Facilitation Essentials program will be offered on Fridays from 1:15 - 2:30 pm ET: April 6, 13, 20, 27 and May 4, 2018

Cost: $450 US. This includes weekly module notes, a pre-call with Jennifer Britton to learn more about your needs, plus weekly 1-1 laser calls to focus in on your own questions and focus areas.

Class size is capped at 8-10 virtual learners, with average group size being in the 3-5 range.

The next offering will be this spring, continuing on from the VFE into late May and June (11 weeks in total for a total of 15 hours of live and on-demand training)
